KEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and Scheduling
- Prepare a mould change schedule on daily basis based on tickets raised by the planning team and communicate the same to the team
- Plan maintenance schedule in consultation with Maintenance head
- Prepare the plan for spares and consumables required for mould workshop
- Plan annual maintenance schedule in line with the annual plant shutdown plan

Operational
- Ensure proper and timely replacement of moulds by being responsible for the execution and the quality of mould fitment
- Analyse moulds, conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective action as required based on the problems encountered
- Ensure proper day-to-day scheduling of work and necessary resources, assign work to the team and review their work
- Implement different maintenance procedures in order to have smooth functioning of the moulds
- Ensure routine preventive maintenance work on the moulds is done and ensure production operators are familiar with required basic maintenance techniques
- Regularly inspect and oversee conditions of all moulds and related equipment’s such as crane, drilling machine etc. and highlight to seniors in case of any concerns
- Effective liaison with other departments such as Production, Planning, Quality to plan and schedule work
- Monitor data on existing equipment’s’ and machines’ condition, performance, mould life, and probable risks/ unique conditions.
- Accordingly, plan for new moulds / equipment and other capital expansions if required in consultation with Senior Management
- Provide detailed inputs on new moulds for new SKU’s when required
- Conduct modification to moulds as required to rectify issues or for enhancement of performance
- Deal with vendors for mould maintenance related activities and ensure AMCs are in place

Safety & Compliance
- Ensure safety measures are necessarily followed by the team and take initiative to enhance acceptance of safety
- Report and prepare RCAs in case of accidents

|
Cost Management
- Plan effectively and constantly monitor inventory of moulds, tools / equipment and consumables as required as per the production plan
- Maintain and control mould maintenance cost within budget
- Reduce mould maintenance costs by initiating cost saving measures and through innovative ideas

Spares Management
- Review periodically inventory of spare parts, and supplies, anticipate needed equipment, parts, and supplies
- Responsible to raise PRs for spare parts and consumables required by the team
- Responsible to raise service orders with vendors for service jobs on moulds
- Interact with the vendors and Stores team for obtaining spares and consumables as per requirement
- Provide all necessary specifications and support to the stores team to assist in selection of the most beneficial vendor / supplier
- Responsible for all spares and consumables issued from stores for mould shop to ensure zero loss or damage and optimum utilization

Documentation, MIS, Review & Analysis
- Maintain mould history cards and review records of all work carried out on each of the moulds
- Maintain and update operating & training manuals
- Ensure SAP is updated regularly and accurately by the team

Team & Relationship Management
- Guide and direct team to ensure the department’s objectives are met
- Manage performance of the team during every shift to ensure optimum utilization of manpower
- Coach, council and provide guidance to team members
- Maintain a high standard of employee morale and engagement in the shift through constant communication and constructive and cooperative relationships with team, contract staff
- Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency etc
- Identify training needs and areas of improvement for the team

Improvement Projects
- Provide inputs and encourage team to work on improvement projects like Kaizen, QIP, 5S, Bol Bindaas, SPARSH, HIRA etc
