About Cables Business:

KEC is one of the leading manufacturers of power and telecom cables in India. It has two state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities located in Vadodara (Gujarat) and Mysore (Karnataka). The manufacturing facilities are accredited with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications.

The Company has a capacity to manufacture around 40,000 KM per annum of power cables, 3600 KM per annum of instrumentation cables, 6 lakh core KM per annum of jelly filled (copper) telecom cables, 6 lakh fibre KM of optical fibre cables, 4000 MTs of Railway Contact Wire and 2000 MTs of Railway Catenary Wire.

KEC entered the cables business by acquiring RPG Cables in 2010. RPG Cables with a rich experience of 6 decades, is one of the oldest and largest, fully integrated cable manufacturers in India. It pioneered the production of XLPE cables in India. It has a diverse clientele across industries including power, oil & gas, steel, engineering, electricity supply, etc.

Key Accountabilities

  • Check the compliance for Plant EHS requirements.
  • Conduct & Prepare on site Emergency Plans, MMR, EHS MIS etc as per Corporate EHS directives
  • Support line management in implementing required ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001
  • Create Environment, Occupational Health & Safety awareness amongst all employee of the organization
  • Implement Environment Occupational Health & Safety policy in all plant operations without any compromise
  • Take suitable actions to close the non-compliances with active help of Plant team
  • Audit/ inspect the work area and guide the Employees to follow safety methods of work practice to eliminate unsafe condition, unsafe acts, and protect environment or minimize pollution
  • Deliver training and review the effectiveness of the training conducted
  • Advise on matters related to carrying out Plant Safety Inspections

Technical -
