Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager (Testing & Commissioning) will be responsible for overseeing and managing the testing and commissioning activities of various projects within the Power Transmission & Distribution. The role involves ensuring that all systems and components are tested, commissioned, and functioning according to the project specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Coordination: Develop and implement testing and commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient execution of testing and commissioning activities.
  • Execution: Supervise and participate in the testing and commissioning of electrical, mechanical, and control systems. Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues encountered during testing and commissioning. Provide technical support and guidance to the team to address any challenges.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed reports, test records, and commissioning documentation. Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure that all systems and components meet the required standards and specifications. Implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of junior engineers and technicians. Foster a collaborative and performance-driven team environment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for optimization, mechanization, and digitalization of testing and commissioning methodologies. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in testing and commissioning within the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) industry, preferably in power transmission and distribution or related sectors.
  • Skills:
    • Strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
    • Proficiency in using testing and commissioning tools and equipment.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Strong project management and organizational skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
