Key Purpose of the Job (Position Summary)

This position is responsible for performing indoor testing for new as well as existing products and for OEMs. The position is responsible for coordinating the homologation process.

  • % Conformance to testing plan
  • % Adherence to QCD for testing
  • No. of benchmarking projects completed
  • % Reduction in testing cycle time

 

 

KEY ACTIVITIES  & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

New Product testing

 

  • Contribute to preparing test plan and  detailing the schedule and type of tests required for new as well as existing products
  • Study the product specifications in detail for which tests are to be performed
  • Understand the minimum performance expectations of each of the test to scope the tests
  • Organize, control, maintain and optimize the test environment and setup
  • Coordinate for availability of  the test equipment and resources required to perform the tests
  • Conduct the tests as per the testing procedures and ensure adherence to testing plan and standards
  • Capture the test results against the defined parameters for each test and prepare test result analysis report in a specified format
  • Co-ordinate and follow-up  with CFT’s like product development and marketing for timely resolution of queries related to product performance
  • Co-ordinate the entire homologation process for obtaining the necessary regulatory, technical safety certifications for the products

 

Testing for OE’s

 

  • Understand the OE requirements in detail and conduct specified performance tests in collaboration with the OE team as per the defined test methodology
  • Capture the measurement data in an OE approved format and prepare an analysis report for the same
  • Document the deviations observed during the tests for further clarifications/ actions from OE team
  • Co-ordinate the entire homologation process for obtaining the necessary regulatory, technical safety certifications for the products

 

Other activities

  • Key in activities in PLM at every stage of to keep a track of progress/ timelines and to ensure timely documentation of the activities
  • Maintain a library of documents related to testing  - test methodology/ procedures, SOP’s, testing standards, test result analysis reports

 

Education and Experience Required

Education:

B. Tech or BE (Mechanical) 

Experience:

3 years of experience in tyre testing and related activities
