Assistant Manager – Lab In charge
Description
The person is responsible to ensure quality on raw material testing, in-process compound testing and fabric testing. The OK material release and non-confirmative material to be followed as per defined guideline and process standard.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Ensure 100% compliance to raw material testing as per control plan
- Ensure 100% compliance to in-process compound testing and calendared materials
- Ensure parameter wise analysis of non-compliance for all materials.
- Ensure improvement in lab activities
- Ensure internal parameters improvement for defined parameters
- Ensure improvement in 5S Score
- Ensure reduction in compound scrap and tracking on daily basis
- Ensure reduction in Compound Held up and reduction in resampling waste
- Ensure adherence on testing with competent manpower
- Ensure adherence to all customer requirements and there shall quick response to any of customer concerns and testing requirements
- Ensure testing of coal and submission of test reports on time. The coal testing and release should be done within defined timeline
- Explore opportunities for reduction of lab Opex and consumption of consumables
KEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and improve quality control for in-process materials across defined production lines in line with Quality standards and parameters defined.
- Review day to day inspections and tests conducted in lab
- Ensure 100% adherence to all machine calibration and maintenance as per scheduled timeline.
- Ensure no production delay due to machine breakdown.
- Handling and planning of manpower for smooth functioning of the shift and handling of deployed manpower on shift
- Review all logbooks and ensure conformance with SOPs and standards
- Conduct daily rounds on lab area to track abnormalities.
- Monitor and evaluate safety practices and procedures. Ensure 100% safety across lab and verification of safety systems on daily safety audits
- Procurement of required Machines, Materials, Parts, Spares and other utilities as per requirement for smooth functioning of lab
- Attend various meetings such as DWM, supplier meeting, Interlabs meetings and etc.
- Ensure adherence to quality norms and take corrective action where necessary.
- Interact with lab associates to ensure & promote quality & right methods of working
- Analyse any deviations in testing or defects; find root causes, understand patterns, initiate corrective action or escalate, as appropriate
