Position Title: Chief Manager – Projects
Business Unit: Renewables – Wind
Location: Bhuj, Gujarat
Job Purpose
The Chief Manager – Projects will be responsible for leading end-to-end execution of wind power projects at site, ensuring timely completion within budget, quality, safety, and contractual parameters. The role involves project planning, site execution, stakeholder coordination, contractor management, statutory compliance, and driving overall project performance from mobilization to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Execution & Site Management

Lead execution of wind power projects from site mobilization to commissioning and handover.

Monitor project schedules, milestones, and resource deployment to ensure timely completion.

Ensure execution activities are carried out in line with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.

Oversee civil, mechanical, and electrical activities related to wind turbine installation and associated infrastructure.

Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders for seamless project implementation.
2. Planning & Monitoring

Prepare and review detailed project execution plans, site schedules, and progress trackers.

Monitor daily/weekly/monthly project progress and identify potential delays or risks.

Drive corrective and preventive actions to maintain project timelines and productivity.

Ensure proper planning of manpower, machinery, material, and subcontractor resources at site.
3. Contractor & Vendor Management

Manage and supervise contractors, subcontractors, and site vendors to ensure timely and quality execution.

Review contractor progress, billing, performance, and compliance with project requirements.

Resolve site-level execution issues in coordination with contractors and internal stakeholders.
4. Stakeholder Coordination

Liaise with clients, consultants, land teams, engineering teams, procurement teams, and statutory authorities for project execution matters.

Ensure smooth coordination across cross-functional teams for material availability, approvals, design clarifications, and project closeouts.

Represent the organization in project review meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
5. Quality, Safety & Compliance

Ensure adherence to quality standards, HSE norms, and project safety guidelines across all site activities.

Drive implementation of safety practices and ensure compliance with statutory and organizational EHS requirements.

Monitor quality of execution and ensure rectification of any deviations or non-conformities.

Ensure compliance with local regulations, statutory approvals, and project documentation requirements.
6. Cost & Budget Control

Monitor project costs and optimize utilization of site resources to control project expenditure.

Track project budgets, site expenses, contractor bills, and cost variances.

Support commercial and finance teams in certification of bills and project cost reporting.
7. Reporting & Documentation
-
Prepare and share regular MIS, progress reports, risk updates, and project status reports with management.

Maintain project documentation related to execution, approvals, billing, quality, safety, and handover.

Ensure proper closure of punch points and support final project documentation at commissioning stage.
Educational Qualification
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Civil Engineering
-
MBA / Project Management certification would be an added advantage
Experience
-
15–20 years of relevant experience in project execution, preferably in Wind / Renewable Energy / EPC projects
-
Strong exposure to execution of large-scale wind energy projects, site operations, contractor management, and project commissioning
