Position Title: Engineer – Electrical

Job Purpose

The Engineer – Electrical will be responsible for execution, supervision, and monitoring of electrical works related to project activities, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, project timelines, and safety requirements. The role involves coordination of installation, testing, commissioning, contractor supervision, and documentation of electrical systems and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Execution & Site Supervision

• Supervise and execute electrical activities at site in line with approved drawings, technical specifications, and project schedules.

• Monitor installation, erection, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, equipment, and associated infrastructure.

• Ensure electrical works are carried out as per project requirements, quality standards, and safety norms.

• Support execution of cable laying, termination, panel installation, earthing, lighting, switchyard / substation-related works, and electrical integration activities, as applicable.

2. Planning & Coordination

• Coordinate with project, civil, mechanical, quality, and commissioning teams for smooth execution of electrical activities.

• Assist in planning daily / weekly work schedules and track progress against project milestones.

• Ensure timely availability of materials, tools, equipment, drawings, and manpower for execution of electrical works.

• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and OEM / commissioning teams to resolve execution issues and maintain progress.

3. Testing & Commissioning Support

• Support testing and commissioning activities of electrical systems and equipment in coordination with relevant stakeholders.

• Verify electrical installations for compliance with design, technical standards, and operational requirements before commissioning.

• Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues during installation and commissioning stages.

4. Quality & Technical Compliance

• Ensure electrical works are executed as per approved procedures, technical standards, and quality requirements.

• Conduct inspections and monitor workmanship, material usage, and installation quality.

• Identify and report deviations / non-conformities and coordinate with execution teams for corrective action.

• Maintain records of inspections, test reports, and quality-related documentation.

5. Contractor Management

• Supervise contractor teams and monitor productivity, workmanship, and adherence to project schedules.

• Provide technical support and clarification to contractors and site teams for electrical execution activities.

• Verify progress of contractor works and support certification of completed activities as required.

6. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to EHS standards, electrical safety procedures, and statutory requirements at site.

• Promote safe work practices and ensure contractors and workmen comply with safety guidelines during execution.

• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses, and support implementation of corrective actions.

7. Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare daily progress reports, electrical execution updates, testing records, and material consumption details.

• Maintain documentation related to installation, testing, commissioning, inspections, and handover of electrical works.

• Support preparation of MIS and project progress reports for management review.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Experience

• 3–6 years of relevant experience in execution of electrical works for EPC / Power / Renewable / Infrastructure / Industrial projects

• Experience in electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and site supervision will be preferred
