Job Description – Manager (Planning) – Solar

Position: Manager – Planning (Solar)
Level: M1 – Manager
Location: Gurugram

Role Overview:

The Manager – Planning (Solar) will be responsible for end-to-end project planning, monitoring, and control for solar EPC projects. The role involves developing project schedules, monitoring progress, managing resources, and ensuring timely completion of projects within defined cost, quality, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed project schedules, resource allocation plans, and timelines using tools like Primavera / MS Project.

  • Monitor project progress against baseline schedules and highlight delays with mitigation plans.

  • Develop and track daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports (DPR/WPR/MPR).

  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, execution, and commercial teams to ensure alignment of project activities.

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control processes to track project financial performance.

  • Identify risks, prepare recovery plans, and ensure timely escalation to management.

  • Ensure adherence to QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment) standards during planning and execution phases.

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project operations and approvals.

Desired Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of project planning and control methodologies for solar EPC projects.

  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Excel.

  • Good understanding of solar project execution processes (civil, electrical, and mechanical works).

  • Analytical skills with ability to forecast and resolve scheduling conflicts.

  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical / Civil / Mechanical preferred).

  • 10–15 years of experience in project planning, with at least 4–5 years in solar EPC projects.

  • Hands-on experience with Primavera / MS Project.

  • Exposure to large-scale solar projects (utility-scale preferred).
