Planning
- Participate with the Outsourcing Head in the annual business planning and budgeting of the outsourced unit
- Ensure complete adherence to the production schedule
- Develop and implement short and long-term plans to ensure that the unit has the necessary resources to meet business objectives.
- Drive and update the production plan in consultation with the vendor so as to achieve the CLIP
- Collaborate with both Technology and Quality under the guidance of the Outsourcing Head in new product development, changes, quality norms etc,
Production:
- Monitor activities and processes at the outsourced unit to ensure that the Production and Quality targets are achieved as per plan
- Drive necessary policies and procedures to ensure that the unit, equipment and the resources are effectively utilized to ensure maximum production efficiency
- Monitor the availability and utilization of moulds, tubes, clamp rings to ensure minimum production loss
- Ensure adherence to preventive and predictive maintenance schedule
- Monitor reconciliation of raw materials at the Unit and ensure all material meets the standard and agreed upon quality levels.
- Ensure Adherence of Unit to SLA with respect to supplies.
- Regularly track key parameters and performance of Unit health, like Down Times, Manpower & Overall management etc.
- Analyse issues that can affect current or future vendor performance and escalate to Outsourcing Head
- Maintaining cordial relationships with the unit owners / management while ensuring achievement of targets.
- Periodic analysis of Production output of the Unit with actionable points of improvement.
- Ensure adherence to the Unit’s compliances to all relevant statutes prevalent in country and states.
- Escalate any non-compliance to the Outsourcing Head
Cost Savings:
- Ensure reductions in scrap cost, in- process wastage cost, maintenance cost, Energy cost, etc
- Work with the unit owners/ management/Vendor Development to take measures to ensure cost reduction across all processes.
- Regularly monitor the Plant MIS for tracking production performance and efficiency ratios
- Leads negotiations for bought-out tyres in bought out units
Quality management:
- Monitor quality testing of incoming raw materials, in-process product and of finished product with regards to defined parameters and provide support in case of any discrepancies/ issues, feedback to RM team
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and requirements
- Work closely with Technology and QA team for improvement activities and new product development (NPD)
- Monitor output quality parameters such as New Defects (ND), Premature claims, QSA scores and initiate actions to improve
QBM:
- Lead the implementation of new systems and process improvement measures like KANBAN, Kaizens, 5S etc. at the unit
- Lead the TPM implementation across the unit and to review the parameters of PQCDSM regularly
- Facilitate CFTs in the unit to address specific issues or to undertake improvement projects in the Plant to ensure cross- functional participation in process/product improvement
- Ensure adherence to safety norms by all personnel in the department so as to achieve the zero accident goal
- Ensure a culture of continuous improvement at the Plant
