Key Purpose of the Job (Position Summary)
The role is responsible for timely management and development of a specific set of existing and new outsourced partners. This includes visiting outsourced units, suggesting improvement initiatives, execution of improvement projects
and resolving issues faced by vendors. The role incumbent is responsible for supporting the Head Vendor Development on QBM activities, managing various audits, ensuring audit compliances and safety initiatives.

Ensure all cost optimization initiatives are implemented in a timely manner.

Improve productivity/efficiencies at all Outsourcing Locations
Vendor related rating: Vendor Satisfaction score, Vendor Audit score, Vendor resolution score
Functions And Responsibilities
Planning
Participate in identification, selection and development of vendors in line with market demand and existing capacities
Identify Electrical/ Automation projects for improving efficiencies, capacities and productivity in existing outsourced units
Support Head Vendor Development in Mechanical improvement projects
Vendor Development
Support existing vendors in developing new technology/ equipment/ processes
Support the vendors on building capacity and capability as per the company requirements, by implementation of various standards like ISO, TQM, OSHAS, etc at vendor end
Measure equipment output/ efficiency and non-productive time and provide inputs to management to improve effectiveness
Ensure orderly execution of operational plans (annual plan) pertaining to vendor development set by the Head Vendor Development
Resolve/ escalate issues of the outsourced partners and effectively manage issues raised with minimum TAT
Execute and manage capacity expansion activities and other cost conversion beneficial activities for new vendors
Ensure timely execution of vendor rating activities based on the set parameters and after reviewing and analyzing several factors.
Cost management
Implement cost optimization projects in the outsourced units in a timely manner.
Conduct audits at the outsourced units to understand areas to improve profit margin of vendors
Track and provide inputs on the reduction in specific consumptions of key inputs
Track and provide inputs on cost saving parameters of reduction in scrap and bladder life improvement
Benchmark the best practices in vendor management/ vendor rationalization for effective comparison of quotations
Seek inputs from the Outsourcing Operations team for capacity expansion projects
QBM
Ensure that QBM audits are conducted at outsourced plants
Participate in the QBM budgeting activities
Provide support for Deming related documentation, processes and audits
Identify QBM opportunities and ensure implementation at outsourcing units
Promote Kaizen through regular QIPs
Identify and reward high performing outsourced units as per defined guidelines
Safety
Ensure regular safety audits and make sure that the outsourced units shall be equipped with necessary safety/ defense kits
Ensure that periodical safety checks shall be conducted at plants and ensure compliance to the legal andcompany norms
Manage basic safety and equipment audits to confirm that they are up-to-date and well kept
Investigate safety concerns & accidents and provide inputs to management
MIS, Documentation
Create and analyze regular reports like Vendor Pricing, Vendor Quality, Vendor Capacity, etc in order to optimize the sourcing decisions
