Job Description (JD) – Finish Yard Executive / Officer

Position: Finish Yard Executive / Officer
Department: Production / Operations
Location: Manufacturing Plant

Job Purpose

To manage finish yard operations efficiently by ensuring proper receipt, storage, identification, handling, dispatch readiness, inventory accuracy, safety compliance, and coordination with production, quality, logistics, and stores teams.

Key Responsibilities

Finish Yard Operations

• Manage day-to-day finish yard activities for finished goods/materials.
• Ensure proper receipt, stacking, storage, and preservation of finished products.
• Maintain material traceability and identification as per company standards.
• Monitor yard capacity utilization and optimize storage space.

Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate inventory records in SAP/QSM/ERP systems.
• Perform material receipt, issue, transfer, and stock reconciliation activities.
• Conduct periodic physical verification and cycle counting of finished goods.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.

Dispatch & Logistics Coordination

• Coordinate with logistics and dispatch teams for timely vehicle placement and loading.
• Ensure availability of dispatch documents, material tags, and loading plans.
• Monitor loading/unloading activities and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Coordinate with transporters and internal stakeholders for smooth material movement.

Documentation & MIS

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
• Maintain dispatch records, stock statements, and yard utilization reports.
• Generate reports using Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Dashboards).
• Ensure proper documentation and record retention.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure finished materials are stored as per quality requirements.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspection and release of materials.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and statutory requirements.

Safety & Housekeeping

• Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping, and 5S practices in the finish yard.
• Ensure safe stacking, material handling, and vehicle movement.
• Report unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and awareness activities.

Team Coordination

• Coordinate with Production, Stores, Planning, Quality, Procurement, and Logistics departments.
• Supervise contract manpower deployed in the finish yard.
• Ensure optimum manpower utilization and productivity.

Preferred Qualification

• Graduate / Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
• 3–8 years of experience in Finish Yard, Stores, Warehouse, or Logistics operations in a manufacturing environment.
