  • Adherence to maintenance schedule and maintenance budget
  • Reduction in downtime (hours and frequency)
  • Reduction in maintenance costs including spares and repair expenses

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Scheduling

  • Plan and ensure efficient maintenance of all machines and equipment.
  • Prepare preventive and predictive maintenance schedules in consultation with the Maintenance Head.
  • Plan for spares and consumables required for maintenance.
  • Prepare annual maintenance schedule aligned with plant shutdown plans.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely completion and quality of all mechanical maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of breakdowns and implement corrective measures.
  • Assign tasks to team members, schedule daily work, and review progress.
  • Implement maintenance procedures for smooth machine operations.
  • Conduct training sessions for operators and supervisors on correct machine usage.
  • Coordinate vendor support for equipment maintenance.
  • Inspect machines regularly and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Collaborate with Production, Planning, and Quality teams for maintenance scheduling.
  • Monitor machine condition, performance, lifecycle, and risks.
  • Support identification, installation, and commissioning of new machines.
  • Ensure AMC contracts are in place and team is trained on new equipment.

Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and promote safety awareness.
  • Report accidents and ensure detailed root cause analysis.
  • Ensure team compliance with EHS, ISO, OHSAS, and other applicable standards.
  • Maintain all documentation and certifications as required.
  • Participate in internal and external audits.

Cost Management

  • Control maintenance expenses within approved budgets.
  • Implement cost-saving ideas and initiatives.

Spares Management

  • Raise PRs for spares and consumables on time.
  • Coordinate with vendors and stores for material availability.
  • Ensure proper utilization of spares with zero loss or damage.
  • Review inventory and anticipate future requirements.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain records of all maintenance work in logbooks and SAP.
  • Update operating and training manuals.
  • Ensure accurate SAP entries by the team.
  • Analyze and report spare consumption, scrap generation, and PM effectiveness.

Team and Relationship Management

  • Guide and develop the maintenance team.
  • Support HR in capability-building initiatives.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide feedback.
  • Motivate and coach team members for improved performance.

Improvement Projects

  • Encourage and support team participation in improvement projects such as Kaizen, 5S, SPARSH, HIRA, and QIP.
