Key Responsibilities:

EHS Compliance and Safety Standards:
- Ensure adherence to national and international safety and environmental regulations, standards, and codes in all electrical engineering activities.
- Develop and implement EHS guidelines specific to electrical systems design, installation, and commissioning processes.
- Perform risk assessments and conduct regular audits on electrical installations and systems to identify potential hazards.
- Advise the project team on electrical safety measures and ensure the correct application of safety protocols throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Electrical Design and Engineering Support:
- Provide technical support for electrical design ensuring compliance with all applicable EHS regulations.
- Assist in the design and review of electrical systems to integrate safety and environmental considerations effectively.
- Ensure that electrical drawings, layouts, and schematics reflect safe design practices.

Health & Safety Inspections:
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical work sites to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, and other EHS safety tools during electrical works.
- Address safety concerns related to electrical equipment and resolve issues promptly.

Incident Investigation and Reporting:
- Lead investigations into electrical-related incidents or near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records of safety audits, inspections, training, and incident reports.

Training and Awareness:
- Develop and conduct EHS training sessions for electrical teams, contractors, and other project staff to raise awareness of electrical safety risks and best practices.
- Promote a safety-first culture and continuously improve EHS practices across the project.

EHS Documentation and Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of EHS-related reports for management and clients.
- Ensure that all EHS documentation is up to date and meets industry standards for audits and inspections.

Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- Collaborate with project engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to integrate EHS policies into electrical system installations.
- Liaise with government agencies, local authorities, and other relevant bodies to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Environmental Protection:
- Ensure that electrical projects minimize negative environmental impact, ensuring compliance with relevant environmental regulations and guidelines.
- Promote energy efficiency and sustainable practices in the design and operation of electrical systems.
