To ensure sustainable manpower availability, capability development, skill enhancement, training effectiveness, succession readiness, and workforce productivity through structured learning, competency management, and talent pipeline development for the Manufacturing Plant.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
Strategic Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the annual SMT strategy aligned with business priorities.
- Drive workforce capability building to support future manufacturing technologies.
- Build strong succession pipelines for critical shopfloor and supervisory roles.
- Enhance plant productivity through focused skill development and multi-skilling initiatives.
- Partner with manufacturing and functional teams for workforce planning and optimization.
Manpower Planning & Workforce Management
- Ensure manpower availability in line with the approved headcount plan.
- Drive recruitment planning across Associates, Apprentices, NATS, NAPS, and GAT programs.
- Monitor manpower deployment, utilization, and productivity.
- Support workforce requirements during plant ramp-ups and expansion phases.
- Maintain and publish manpower dashboards and analytics for decision-making.
Learning & Development
- Design and execute the annual training calendar aligned with business needs.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, technical, behavioral, and leadership training requirements.
- Drive OJT certification and structured skill certification programs.
- Monitor training effectiveness through assessments and impact on productivity.
- Lead adoption of digital learning solutions, including VR-based training initiatives.
Skill Development & Capability Building
- Maintain a comprehensive plant-wide skill matrix and competency framework.
- Drive multi-skilling and cross-functional capability development initiatives.
- Identify skill gaps and design structured development interventions.
- Conduct periodic competency assessments to track progress.
- Enhance workforce flexibility through systematic cross-training programs.
Apprentice & Trainee Management
- Manage NATS, NAPS, GAT, and Graduate Trainee programs end-to-end.
- Collaborate with institutes, colleges, and skill development partners.
- Oversee onboarding, training, evaluation, and absorption processes.
- Track trainee performance, engagement, and retention metrics.
Performance & Talent Management
- Support performance management processes for shopfloor associates.
- Identify high-potential talent and create targeted development plans.
- Facilitate career progression discussions and structured growth pathways.
- Coordinate talent reviews and succession planning initiatives.
Employee Engagement & Retention
- Drive initiatives to enhance employee experience and retention.
- Organize learning campaigns, certification ceremonies, and recognition programs.
- Analyze attrition trends and recommend capability-building interventions.
- Support engagement surveys and action planning for continuous improvement.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure training records are maintained in line with ISO, IATF, and statutory requirements.
- Manage training audits and compliance reviews effectively.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies and learning governance standards.
- Publish periodic SMT MIS and management reports for leadership review.
