JOB DUTIES

Job Purpose

  • To lead, govern, and sustain Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and 5S across KEC’s Tower Manufacturing plants, driving equipment reliability, workplace discipline, safety, productivity, quality, cost control, continuous improvement, and strong employee involvement.
  • The role acts as the single-point owner of TPM & 5S strategy, deployment, and maturity for Tower Manufacturing plants in India.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

 

 

 

 

TPM Implementation & Facilitation

• Lead and facilitate deployment of TPM pillars across KEC TL plants, ensuring standardization and maturity progression
• Facilitate TPM activities and focused improvement projects involving cross-functional teams
• Develop, deploy, and review TPM master plans, roadmaps, and annual deployment calendars
• Guide and govern Plant TPM Coordinators to ensure discipline, audit compliance & sustenance
• Ensure strong integration of TPM with safety, quality, productivity, cost control, and 5S practices

• Drive adoption of digital TPM, AI/ML-based loss analytics, predictive maintenance, and smart factory practices across plants to enhance equipment reliability and TPM maturity.

• Enable standardized digital TPM dashboards, data governance, and cross-plant benchmarking using Industry 4.0 tools.

 

Training & Development

• Design and conduct TPM & 5S training programs for operators, managers, and leadership teams
• Coach and mentor TPM pillar leaders, Plant TPM Coordinators, and shop-floor teams to build ownership of equipment
• Develop TPM capability through OJTs, small group activities, and structured learning
• Build awareness and skill competence majorly in AM, PM, KK, QM.

 

Performance Monitoring

• Track, analyse, and review TPM KPIs including OEE, MTBF, MTTR, breakdown losses, maintenance costs, and throughput impact
• Monitor TPM & 5S audit scores, pillar-wise progress, and maturity levels
• Ensure structured TPM performance reviews with Plant Heads and senior management
• Prepare and present TPM MIS, dashboards, and performance reports for leadership reviews

 

Continuous Improvement

• Drive continuous improvement culture through TPM-based small group activities, Kaizen and focused improvement projects
• Lead identification and elimination of chronic equipment losses and recurring breakdowns
• Encourage employee participation through suggestion / Kaizen improvements & TPM circles
• Ensure improvements are standardized and sustained through TPM and 5S discipline

Lead structured problem-solving using basic & advanced quality tools to eliminate chronic equipment and quality losses across plants.

Establish common problem-solving standards, review rigor, and capability building to improve consistency and maturity.

 

Collaboration & Communication

• Act as a key interface between shop-floor teams, maintenance, production, Plant Heads, and senior leadership for TPM governance
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to resolve safety, quality & productivity issues
• Communicate TPM & 5S progress, challenges, best practices, and success stories across plants
• Promote a strong culture of safety, ownership, transparency, and employee involvement

KEY CAPABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical / Production preferred)
  • 12–18 years of industrial manufacturing experience
  • 8–10 years of hands-on TPM implementation and sustenance experience
  • Exposure to multi-plant TPM governance and audits
  • Experience in TPM & 5S training and capability building
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred).
