Position Title: Officer – Survey

Business Unit: Renewables – Solar
Location: Gurugram (GGN)

Job Purpose

The Officer – Survey will be responsible for carrying out topographical, boundary, and construction surveys for solar power projects. The role involves ensuring accurate site measurements, layout marking, data collection, and survey documentation to support project planning, engineering, and execution while ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

1. Survey Planning & Execution

  • Conduct topographical, contour, boundary, and route surveys for utility-scale solar projects.

  • Perform site reconnaissance and establish survey control points and benchmarks.

  • Carry out setting out, layout marking, and alignment activities as per approved drawings and project requirements.

  • Verify coordinates, elevations, and dimensions to ensure accuracy during project execution.

2. Construction Survey Support

  • Provide survey support during civil, structural, and electrical construction activities.

  • Assist project execution teams in layout marking for module mounting structures, inverter stations, internal roads, cable trenches, and associated infrastructure.

  • Conduct periodic verification surveys to ensure construction is progressing as per approved designs.

  • Monitor deviations and recommend corrective actions wherever required.

3. Survey Equipment Management

  • Operate and maintain survey instruments such as Total Station, DGPS, Auto Level, Dumpy Level, and GPS equipment.

  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of survey instruments for accurate measurements.

  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and coordinate servicing when required.

4. Data Processing & Documentation

  • Prepare survey reports, contour maps, layout drawings, and measurement records.

  • Process survey data using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other survey software.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of survey records, coordinates, benchmarks, and site measurements.

  • Ensure timely submission of survey reports and as-built drawings.

5. Coordination & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with engineering, design, construction, and quality teams for survey-related activities.

  • Liaise with contractors and subcontractors to ensure accurate execution based on survey data.

  • Support land, project planning, and execution teams by providing survey inputs during various project stages.

6. Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all survey activities comply with approved engineering standards, project specifications, and company procedures.

  • Follow all EHS guidelines while carrying out field survey activities.

  • Report discrepancies, technical issues, and site constraints to the reporting manager for timely resolution.


Educational Qualification

  • Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Survey Engineering, Geomatics, or a related discipline.

  • Certification in Land Surveying or use of Total Station/DGPS will be an added advantage.


Experience

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in survey activities for Solar / Renewable Energy / EPC / Infrastructure / Power Projects.

  • Experience in utility-scale solar projects and construction surveys will be preferred.
