Key Accountabilities or KRAs
A. Cost Estimation & RFQ Support
Lead manufacturing feasibility and cost estimation for new RFQs and tenders.
Prepare:
• Line and equipment layout concepts
• Process flow maps
• Cycle time and manpower calculations
• Cost models for new or modified processes
B. Process Engineering Documentation
Ensure availability, accuracy, and timely release of all process engineering documents, including:
• Process Flow Diagram (PFD)
• PFMEA
• Work Instructions (WKI)
• Control Plan
• MBOM
• Cycle Time (CT)
• Criticality Matrix
• Task Sequence & Manpower Mapping
C. Process expertise
Establishing manufacturing processes with hands-on expertise in:
• Leak testers
• VMC 3 and 5 axis machines
• Orbital & T welding
• Fixtures and SPM assembly machines
D. Capex and Opex
Prepare and justify:
• Project-related CAPEX
• Site sustenance CAPEX
• Support techno-commercial evaluation and approvals.
E. New Line & Equipment Setup
Lead new line setup and machine introduction activities:
• Creation of EMFU lists.
• End-to-end P2P coordination.
• Asset creation, commissioning, and handover to operations.
F. Process Capability & Validation
• Prepare Process Development Sheets (PDS) as per customer specifications.
• Ensure process capability indices CPK ≥ 1.33.
Drive:
• Prototype and sample builds
• Line trials
• Process validation and approvals
• Complete documentation and sign-offs
G. Cycle Time & Productivity Validation Validate cycle time using:
• Video time study
• MTM/MOST Methodologies
• Create and maintain a standard activity reference library
H. Change Management
• Manage engineering changes and CR releases.
• Ensure controlled management changes, documentation
updates, and multi-level approvals
I. Continuous Improvement & Quality
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including:
• VSM studies
• Bottleneck identification
• Elimination of non–value-added activities
• Drive rejection reduction and customer complaint resolution through:
• Root cause analysis
• Corrective action plans
• Improvement in OEE and overall line efficiency
J. Ergonomics & Safety
• Perform ergonomic assessments and ensure:
• Ergonomic score ≥ 90 for green status
• Minimum acceptable score ≥ 85%
• Implement improvements to enhance operator safety and
comfort.
K. Kaizen & Lean Initiatives
• Drive in-house kaizen activities to:
• Reduce operational costs
• Improve productivity and efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for implementation.
L. Layout Planning & Industrialization
• Develop plant and line layouts for:
• New projects
• Capacity expansion
• Long-term footprint planning
M. PCN & Work Definition • Prepare work definitions and documentation for all Process
Change Notices (PCNs).
N. Team Leadership & People Management
• Lead and mentor a team of 2 manufacturing/process
engineers.
Focus on:
• Skill development and competent enhancement
• Team morale and engagement
• Cross-functional conflict resolution
