Job Responsibilities
1. Quality Assurance (In-Process & Systems)
•Ensure transformers are manufactured as per applicable IS/IEC/ANSI/NEMA specifications.
•Lead in-process quality checks and non-conformance management.
•Develop and implement Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs), PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams.
•Handle customer inspections and audits independently.
•Conduct process audits, documentation audits, and system audits.
•Manage internal NCs and customer complaints using RCA and CAPA tools (5-Why, Fishbone).
•Support design reviews and identify manufacturing checkpoints.
•Knowledge of manufacturing processes for Dry and Oil-cooled Transformers, including those used in VFD applications.
•Maintain calibration and upkeep of QA instruments and in-process setups.
•Coordinate compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and Integrated Management System (IMS) documentation.
•Knowledge on Routine, Type, and Special Testing up to 132kV class transformers.
•Prepare and Review SOPs, procedures and Work instructions.
•Develop check sheets, formats and procedures for complex transformers (e.g., multi-winding, special designs).
•Handle technical customer interactions related to inspections, testing, and quality issues.
•Ensure accuracy, reliability, and traceability of test results through robust QC systems.
•Provide technical support to New Product Development (NPD) teams.
2. ISO systems Responsibilities
•Liaise with QCIN and certification bodies.
•manage training needs and conduct internal quality audits.
•Ensure process compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
3. Team Leadership & Development
•Recruit, train, and mentor a team of QA engineers and technicians.
•Define team roles, set performance expectations, and conduct evaluations.
•Develop competency matrix and training plans.
•Cultivate a high-performance and quality-focused team culture.
4. Customer Complaint & Field Failure Analysis
•Lead investigation and resolution of customer complaints and field return failures.
•Analyse defect trends using QA metrics, Pareto charts, and other tools.
•Implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
•Ensure timely feedback to production to prevent recurrence.
5. Resource and Equipment Management
•Ensure all QA equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
•Plan procurement of consumables and equipment.
•Optimize resource allocation and manage departmental budgets.
