Manager - Structural Design (Water) - Grade M1/M2

Work under Deputy General Manager Design (Water) and prepare the designs of Pumping Stations/WTP/ELSR Projects. To provide complete Detail Engineering, and Tendering Support.

Dy. General Manager – Design (Water)

Key Skills

  1. Candidate must have skills to design, plan, manage and deliver multiple projects
  2. Candidate must have 7+ years construction design  experience  in water and waste water sector with excellent  knowledge of structural design of all components of entire end
  3. Candidate should  have knowledge and functioning of  different components WTP/STP/CETP Projects
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills
  5. Demonstrated proficiency in design softwares, Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  6. Ability to work effectively in a team-based, fast-paced environment especially coordinating with Architectural and Structural designers
  7. Ability to optimize designs with a creative and innovative approaches
  8. Well versed  with Knowledge of international and Indian design codes.
  9. Comprehensive understanding of EHS and Quality standards and requirements.
  10. Experience in Precast method of design will be an added advantage.


Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Bid Design:

  1. Study of tender documents and prepare technical queries.
  2. Work with M&BD to finalise the requirement for different  designs
  3. Prepare correct  and optimized design for various components  of Water /Waste water Projects
  4. Prepare/ review the Bill of quantities for tender estimates.
  5. Any other technical assistance as required by the design Head and Chief Manager

Detail Engineering:

  1. Coordinate with DGM- Designs, Project Manager, Surveyors and  Geotechnical Engineer to get the correct and timely topographical survey and Geo-technical investigations  done
  2. Design and  Manage all structural designs and drawings  end to end  to prepare all bid proposals and detailed design all components  according to contract specifications
  3. Preparation of Civil & structure design related to Intake structures,  WTP/STP/ Pumping Station/ Elevated level surface reservoir (ELSR) etc.
  4. Design of water retaining structures like underground chambers, pumping station, drains, pipe racks, platforms etc.
  5. Coordination for creation of layouts, designs, drawings, identifying any weaknesses in designs and making relevant modifications with design plans and structures in line with the client specifications.
  6. Adopt best practices in design activities especially in digital technologies for optimized and innovative design delivery
  7. Give necessary inputs to draftsperson and review drawings.
  8. Liaising with clients and Site team on regular  basis to resolve the design and technical issues
  9. Technical support to site at the time of project execution and commissioning.
  10. Prepare and present status reports to Clients, Superiors and Management

BE/B. Tech – Civil, M.E/M.Tech - Structures
