Senior Engineer – Mechanical (Wind Projects)

Job Purpose

To execute and supervise mechanical activities related to wind power projects, ensuring timely installation, quality execution, adherence to safety standards, and compliance with project specifications while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders for successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical erection and installation activities for Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Supervise installation of tower sections, nacelle, hub, rotor blades, and associated mechanical equipment.
• Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, vendors, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor daily site progress and ensure achievement of project milestones within stipulated timelines.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, inspection requirements, and project specifications during mechanical execution.
• Coordinate lifting and heavy crane operations for WTG erection while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Verify mechanical alignment, torqueing, bolting, lubrication, and commissioning readiness of installed equipment.
• Review engineering drawings, method statements, and technical documents before execution.
• Maintain daily progress reports, inspection records, material reconciliation, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, EHS, and Quality teams for seamless execution of project activities.
• Identify construction challenges and proactively recommend technical solutions to minimize delays.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and construction resources.
• Support commissioning activities and mechanical punch point closure.
• Ensure strict compliance with company EHS policies and statutory regulations at project sites.

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.

Experience

• 5–8 years of experience in mechanical execution of Wind Power/EPC/Renewable Energy projects.
• Experience in Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) erection, installation, and commissioning will be preferred.
