Senior Engineer - Rebar

A Rebar Engineer with 7 to 10 years of experience acts as a senior or lead technical specialist. They oversee reinforcement detailing, verify complex Bar Bending Schedules (BBS), ensure structural compliance with international codes (such as IS, ACI, BS, or Eurocodes), and manage site or design coordination teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Detailing & Review: Prepare, check, and approve complex rebar shop drawings, foundation layouts, beam-column junctions, and structural elements.
• BBS Management: Generate, audit, and optimize Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) to minimize steel wastage and ensure accurate material takeoffs.
• Code Compliance: Verify rebar diameters, spacing, development lengths, lap splices, anchorage zones, and concrete cover blocks against project specifications and standards.
• Team Leadership & Mentoring: Guide, train, and review the work of junior and intermediate rebar detailers.
• Site & Consultant Coordination: Resolve RFIs (Requests for Information), coordinate with structural consultants, and inspect site rebar placement prior to concrete pours.
