Job Summary

The incumbent will provide legal support for railway transportation projects by managing contract administration, claims, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance. The role involves working closely with project, procurement, commercial, and business teams to safeguard the company's legal interests, mitigate risks, and ensure smooth execution of projects in line with contractual and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and vet contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to railway and infrastructure projects.
  • Assist in preparation and drafting of Statements of Claims, legal notices, replies, pleadings, and other dispute-related documentation.
  • Support identification, evaluation, and raising of contractual claims arising during project execution.
  • Manage dispute resolution matters, including invocation of dispute resolution mechanisms and coordination of arbitration proceedings.
  • Liaise and coordinate with external legal counsel, law firms, arbitrators, and other stakeholders on legal matters.
  • Provide legal support during tendering processes, including review of RFPs, BOQs, bid conditions, and contractual terms.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, contractual obligations, and internal policies.
  • Advise project, procurement, and commercial teams on contract interpretation, risk mitigation, contractual rights, and project execution issues.
  • Monitor legal and contractual risks and recommend appropriate preventive and corrective measures.
  • Support legal documentation, record management, and reporting related to contracts, claims, disputes, and compliance matters.
