Role Objective

Looking for a 6–10 years experienced Business Development Manager with strong exposure to EPCs, consultants, and electrical infrastructure markets enabling product approvals, project specifications, and pipeline creation for scalable business growth.

Role will focus on new market development across APAC, driving product approvals, project pipeline, and distributor onboarding.

LOCATION

Preferred: Mumbai

Travel: 40–60% across APAC

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. New Market Development , Project & Specification Up-Selling (Primary Focus)

  • Identify and onboard new distributors, EPC contractors, consultants, and system integrators
  • Develop entry strategy for Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand.
  • Build strong pipeline of new accounts and project opportunities - Engage with EPCs, consultants, and end-users to get products specified and approved at pre-bid stage
  • Track upcoming relevant large infrastructure, energy, data centre, and industrial projects

2. Channel Development & Pipeline creation

  • Appoint and develop strong local partners/distributors - Ensure coverage, visibility, and stock planning in Indonesia, Vietnam, Australia, South Korea
  • Support partners in tendering and project participation
  • Build early-stage pipeline (suspect → prospect → approach) , Ensure minimum 2–3X pipeline coverage of target/budgeted numbers
  • Coordinate with Regional Head for deal closure

3. Market Intelligence & Competitive Strategy

  • Track competitors (pricing, positioning, product gaps)
  • Identify opportunities for product customization and benchmarking
  • Provide regular insights on market trends and project developments
  • Identify Relevant Industry portals, Exhibitions and Conferences to upscale hunting and farming efforts and enable in quick development of relevant opportunities

KEY KPIs

  • New customer acquisition (No. of accounts onboarded)
  • Pipeline generation (Cr value)
  • Project approvals / specifications achieved
  • Distributor appointments in new markets
  • Contribution to new business revenue (₹ Cr)

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Experience: 6–10 years
  • Strong exposure in new business development / project sales in APAC market
  • Experience in developing virgin markets.
  • Industry Background / Target candidates from:
  • Electrical infrastructure / cable accessories
  • Industrial products / EPC supply
  • Power distribution / transmission
  • Explosion-proof / hazardous area products & Safety products (industrial PPE)

SKILLSET REQUIRED

  • Must-have: Strong network with EPCs / consultants / distributors
  • Experience in project selling (not just trading)
  • Ability to open new markets independently
  • Good understanding of electrical products / infrastructure
  • Good-to-have: Exposure to APAC/ Southeast markets
  • Knowledge of product approvals, certifications, tendering
  • Experience handling multi-country business
