Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business goals.
- Preparing monthly sales plan based on N+2 UEOB ( Unexecuted Order book ) after discussion with all regions sales heads and then coordinating with factory planners for
- finalizing monthly production plan.
- Releasing MRP ( Material requirement planning) as per sales plan in time to ensure availability of raw material as per agreed monthly production plan .
- Ensure debottlenecking of operations which creates bottleneck for achieving monthly sales / production budgets
- Ensure 100% capacity utilization of all production units and loading plant as per maximum value creation.
- Ensure alignment with Sourcing and Hedging strategy.
- Pricing Negotiation and Finalization for all the commodities
- Capex Negotiation and purchase.
- Monitor Global commodity exchanges
- Purchase based on statistics of LME\
- Lead and mentor SCM, procurement, planning, and logistics teams.
- Drive continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
- Manage procurement of copper, aluminum, polymers, PVC, XLPE, steel, and packing materials.
- Vendor and Supplier Management - Develop strategic sourcing and long-term vendor partnerships
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms.
- Lead demand forecasting, MRP and weekly/daily production planning.
- Capacity and constraint management
- Changeover Optimization, balanced capacity loading and improve asset utilization
- Optimize inventory levels across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Reduce slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics, warehousing, and dispatch planning as per customer schedule.
- Optimize freight costs and ensure timely deliveries.
- Handle import/export logistics and compliance if applicable.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives
- Monitor SCM KPIs including OTIF, inventory turns, and logistics costs
- Ensure statutory, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Ensure effective ERP utilization (SAP / Oracle / Others).
- Prepare MIS and dashboards for management review.
Technical:
- Strong understanding of cable manufacturing processes (power cables, control cables, LT/HT cables, etc.),
- In-depth knowledge of raw materials.
- Expertise in Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and Production Planning
- SAP Proficiency
- Knowledge of inventory control techniques (ABC, FSN, EOQ, JIT)
- Understanding of logistics, warehousing, and transportation management
- Exposure to import/export procedures, customs documentation, and statutory compliance
- Cost analysis, should-costing, and working capital optimization\
- Familiarity with quality standards, audits, and supplier certifications
Functional :
- Contract negotiation and commercial finalization
- Demand forecasting and S&OP coordination
- Inventory optimization and reduction of slow-moving / obsolete stock
- Logistics planning and freight cost optimization
- Cross-functional coordination with Production, Sales, Finance, and QA
- Risk management and supply continuity planning
